Hey Noah, You should tell everyone as much as you can about DIY
auction. So we also need to discuss the move of your current site to
dod.net. I have a few questions that will help me get a better
understanding of your situation.
1: Do you own a domain or do you just use the redirecting services?
2: Aside from Perl and MySQL are there any server specific things your
site needs?
3: When we move this over it will mean that the site will drop for a
little bit. Is this something we can do next weekend in the A.M. so
that the users don't really notice?
If you can answer these questions and probably the most
important one:
Do you really want to do this?
Then we will be all set. On a side note I know that you were
interested in getting a real server up and running. If you get a
chance to look into what it would take to put one together on a Sparc
5 running Solaris 8 ( SunOS_5.8 ). Once we get the new box we will be
putting it up with our east coast collocation. This will have a MP3
service and hopefully your real audio service. If posable we might
want to make this a service that people can take advantage of. DoD.net
has had allot of inquiries as to whether we will be putting a real
server up.
