zdacviete, i do recording for bands that need it.
right now i'm not making payment necessary, per say;
however, as we will eventually need to, here's the
deal: i will not charge by the hour, but by the
project, i would figure i should get at least $160 per
8 hr. day of recording, but this is for local punks
who DON'T necessarily have professional backing, so
that rate will be reserved for big bands + rich
bitchez. A more affordable rate would be about
$25-$30/day (you could put that up as a starting cost,
mentioning that i use 8-364 track didgital equipment
and professional mics for a professional sound). also
i could burn cds and dub tapes, for the actual
duplication i would charge the cost of the
cd($1/$1.30:without/with case) or tape
(40c/55c:without/with case), plus a recording charge
of say 10-25c per unit. we could even print covers,
etc. for only the cost and maybe an extra 5-10c per
cd/tape to put together. Also shirts, stickers,
posters, etc. at just over cost to make things as
affordable as possible while looking at the realistic
side of staying in business and earning some sort of
wage for the hours that i spend making bands sound
good. also, if any of you guys knows about distro
please help, it would draw in more people if they
could count on affordable rates to record + make their
cds + tapes, as well as good distro!
